JUNIOR BITCH

1 entry

  1. Miller's Railside Honey.  12 month old liver & tan nice head with a slightly receding skull and feminine expression.  Nice outline, good rear quarters.  Not moving soundly with the tendency to throw the right rear leg.

NOVICE BITCH

3 entries, 1 absent

  1. Brown's Albronne Billy-Jo.  Nearly 2 years old rich coloured red bitch.  Nice head with a narrow long skull, low set ears which could ideally be longer.  Good length in back and good confirmation.  Moved soundly and should mature with age.
  2. Wright's Staindale Prudence of Kingwater.  Nearly 2 years old black & tan with a nice expression; low set stern but good hindquarters.  Was rather skittish on the day.

GRADUATE BITCH

8 entries, 3 absent

  1. Tickell's Albronne Abacus.  Nearly 3 years old dark black & tan nice head slightly receding skull, low set ears.  Exhibited in excellent condition. Soft/uneven topline with a correctly set stern.  A little longer back would complete the picture.  Well knuckled up feet and a good mover.
  2. Brazener's Staindale Lavina of Jaysall.  Another dark black & tan nearly 2 years old.  Shown in very good condition.  Nice head adequate length ears but eyes could be a problem.  Skin very soft to the touch.  Good proportion and good hindquarters.  Moved OK.
  3. Denwood's Weatheroak Gracious For Zeiger.  3 years old red bitch pleasing head with a rather non feminine expression, good lip.  Seems not to have entirely got rid of a skin condition.  Acceptable movement.

LIMIT BITCH

  • Kitchingman's Damick Desert Breeze.  2 years old black & tan petite but well constructed bitch.  Inadequately knuckled feet but was probably the best mover on the day.  Unfortunately not in show condition (recovering from a skin condition) due to which I reluctantly withheld the ticket.

  1. Kitchingman's Damick Desert Orchid.  2 years old black & tan petite bitch. Nicely put together and in proportion.  Nice feminine expression, slightly receding skull and low set ears which could be longer.  Good topline and hindquarters but not well knuckled feet.  Moved easily and well.
  2. Brown's Barilla Haughty.  Nearly 6 years old mature red bitch.  Good head which could be a bit longer adequate feminine expression.  Nicely put together but would prefer a little more length of back.  Well knuckled up feet and very good movement.

WORKING TRIAL DOG or BITCH

2 entries, 1 absent

Corale

VETERAN DOG or BITCH

3 entries, 1 absent

It is a pity that one was required to place these two veterans because their mere presence would have sufficed.

  1. Corner & Mckay's Ch. Cammonstone Grimston.  8 years old heavy bone black & tan with a very beautiful head, pronounced occiput and long low set ears. Good length of back.  Still has that presence that makes one look at him.
  2. Brockbank's Brighton Knowall.  10 years old black & tan dog lovely head with long low set ears.  Good confirmation and still in good condition for his age.

The heads of these two hounds may be, by today's standard, somewhat exaggerated but clearly bear the stamp of “Bloodhound”.
