At Crufts 2008, Bloodhounds were judged by Leonarda Podgodzinski on Sunday 9th March
Her Best of Breed was Gore's Sagio Emilia at Silverspring (Imp, Swe).

The Dog CC was awarded to Sayles' WTCh. Cilgwri Uncanny Keano.
Their first CC for both hounds.

Leonarda also judged the Senior Stake of the ABB Spring Trials, and awarded the
KC Working Trials Certificate to Jean & Duncan Robertson's Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis
which, with her first in The Club's Spring Senior Stake, qualified her as Working Trial Champion. 
 

Late in 2008 a BBC TV Panorama programme, in which no reference was made to bloodhounds,prompted the Kennel Club General Committee to insist that all breed clubs adopt the same code of ethics, including four points not previously included in The Bloodhound Club Code of Ethics.


2008
The Bloodhound Club Championship Autumn Trials were held in Kent,
from 20th to 24 October 2008.

The Bloodhound Club Open Show Autumn 2008, held on 2nd November
was judged by Dagmar Kenis-Pordham who judged the Hound Group at Crufts 2007.

Ten championship shows offer champion certificates (CC) for Bloodhounds. 
Entries for multiple breed championship shows generally close two months before shows,
but schedules and entry forms for these are sometimes available as PDF downloads from
the Higham Press site.

The Bloodhound Club Championship Show 2008
was judged by Bob Hutchinson (Herdus) on Sunday 8th June.
His Best in Show was Best Bitch: Sam Sutcliffe's Marksbury Illogical of Farlap 
Reserve Best in Show was Linda Van Der Sichels' bitch Multi Ch Charlotte Truffe Medievale, who came over from Belgium.

The Bloodhound Club Spring Trials were held in the last week of February, in country
North of Holybourne, Hampshire.
These culminated in Barry Allen awarding the Kennel Club Working Trials Certificate
to the Robertson's Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis.

The AGM was held in Baginton Village Hall on 3rd February
followed by the Spring Open Show 2008,
judged by Helen Powell (Trailfinder)
Her Best in Show was Mr J Duckmanton's Doctor Watson, and
Reserve B I S & BP was Mr & Mrs Wrights Kingwater Hemingway.

The first event to be organised by the
Bloodhound Club each year is the
Millvery Trophy Stake.
This was held on
Sunday 27th January 2008,
at Rectory Farm near Lower Swell,
in the Cotswolds.
Both Tickell's Yardley's Gigolo (Imp, Sweden) and
Robertson's Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis,
were judged by Rod Bennett, but the trophy was not awarded.
