Bloodhound Club Events for 2009

In 2009 there was some controversy at the Kennel Club raised by a BBC TV Panorama programme, in which no reference was made to bloodhounds, but the Kennel Club General Committee reacted by insisting that all breed clubs adopt a code of ethics, starting with the same first ten points, so the The Bloodhound Club Code of Ethics was revised.


 
The Spring Trials were held .
 
The AGM was held at Baginton, on
The AGM was followed by the Spring Open Show, judged by
     
 
 
 
The first event for 2009, was the Millvery Trophy Stake, where lines are 8 hours cold.
This was held on th January .
The Stake was judged by Robert Selman, who awarded the trophy to
Robertson's WTCh. Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis (Bouquet).

The last Bloodhound Club event of 2008 was the Kelperland Trophy Stake held on Sunday th November, at .
The judge, awarded the Kelperland Trophy to Robertson's WTCh. Trailfinder Endearing by Floralis (Bouquet).
 
 
The Bloodhound Club Autumn Open Show was held on Sunday 8th November.
The show was judged by Mark Cocozza.

The bitches came out on top with:
Best in Show was Gillian Lamb's Kingwater Mrs Hippichik of Scentall,
Res BiS: Powell's Trailfinder High Flyer.
Best Dog: Lamb & Crease's Cammonstone Jupiter,
Res Dog: Borrowmans Trailfinder Gulliver and
Best Puppy Mrs P Walls' Trailfinder Kind Hearted.

The Bloodhound Club Autumn Trials were held in the Mendip Hills, Somerset.

The Bloodhound Club Championship Show was held on Saturday 6th June.
at Baginton, with Ken Miller judging.
Sam Sutcliffe's Marksbury Illogical of Farlap, repeated last year's success,
by again being awarded Best in Show!
The Dog CC was awarded to Sam's Farlap Basnicky
 
Also a repeat achievement from the Club's Spring Open Show:
Sherlock Capers, jointly owned by Shirley Porter & Mary Fish.
awarded Best Puppy, and this time winning the Dog Reserve CC.
The Bitch Reserve CC was awarded to Cartwright's Railside Molly at Longmynd.
 
 
The Spring Open Show was judged by Paul Letheren.
Best Dog & Best in Show was awarded to Mr & Mrs Broomes Trailfinder Judge.
Reserve Best in Show, Reserve Best Dog & Best Puppy was awarded to
Sherlock Capers, jointly owned by Shirley Porter & Mary Fish.
Best Bitch went to Helen & David Powell's Trailfinder Hopscotch
with Res Best Bitch to Shane O'Keefe's Trailfinder Guardian Angel at Darleycliffe.
 
Before then, the Bloodhound Club Trials for Spring 2009 were held at
Southill, Bedfordshire from 23rd to 27th February.
