A special site has been set up for the event at www.goldenjubilee2010.com !
The weather was very kind to us as it was hot and sunny both days, with rain
showers waiting until after dark, and after the main events of Sunday.
The weekend began on Friday 4th June with an evening reception at the Marston Farm Hotel.
Many of our overseas guests and long distance members had already arrived that afternoon
so early arrivals were able to catch up on overseas news and discuss all things Bloodhound.
The major event was on the Saturday, the Championship Show judged by James Edwards,
from the USA, where he has the AKC affix of Cistron Bloodhounds. For a profile click here.
At the banquet later, we were treated to an after dinner speach from Jim, which highlighted his response to
the Kennel Club bureaucracy he had encountered.
Jim has kindly reproduced this for us, entitled On Seeing the Essence of Bloodhounds.
There was an entry of sixty-five bloodhounds, with Jim's Best in Show was Sue Emrys Jones' six year
old Champion Marksbury Wistful.

The show was followed by the Trophy Presentation, with special prizes donated by members
and kind sponsorship from Royal Canin and Bob Martin.
The evening banquet was followed by the auction, presided over by Tony Dymott acting as auctioneer.
The catalogue and a special booklet featuring the winners of the last 25 Bloodhound Club Championship Show
winners was available for sale during the day as a limited edition, but number 1 of each had been
reserved for the auction.
Lots of members had donated bloodhound memorabelia for the auction, in order to raise funds for Bloodhound Welfare.
The maximum bid was for a silver bracelet donated by the Edna White of the Delburn Bloodhounds, which had been a keepsake
from her mother. This features the Kennel Club Crest and two hunt buttons of the Peak Bloodhounds, dating back to the 1950s.

Gillian Lamb, with help from the Golden Jubilee Sub-committee and others, had organised a Fun Day for Sunday.
For Sunday we were joined by members and the Otterhound Club, and quite a few other breeds and rescued hounds.
First off was the Match judged by Jan Grit, where bloodhounds were judged against these other visitors.
The Match was won by Lesley Goulding's Bloodhound puppy ‘Gracie’.
Photos from the Match can be seen here.

A Fun Show then ran concurrently, judged by Birgit Grit.
Other fun events were Ian Borrowman's Identification Competition, testing hounds'
ability to pick out the scent one person out of a crowd.
David Gore designed and judged the Fun Obedience Competition, and his partner,
Cara Wilson, with their rescued bloodhound, Honour, provided an Agility Demonstration.
Cara then helped others present around the course, and many handlers gave their hounds a try.
Cara's summary is here, and David has presented results
of the Fun Obedience Competition, here.

Sam, of Farlap Photography, organised and judged the Photo Competition.
In the marquee, besides the usual opportunity to buy Bloodhound Club Regalia, stalls
were run by Tony and Janine Dymott, and a Bloodhound Lifeline stall was
run by Andy and Debbie Pownall, and their team.

Debbie had provided two sets of bloodhound ears and offered to paint bloodhound
faces. Both Dave Powell and Adrian Williams took on the challenge. . . .
